Film Beautiful Thing ima osećaj za socijalne teme kao filmovi kasnijih 60-tih I radih 70-ih. Film istražuje reperkusije koje doživljavaju dvojica tinejdžera, koji su otkrili ljubav jedan prema drugome. Film poziva na toleranciju, koji pokazuje strah ali malo od homofobije koju ovi karakteri mogu doživeti u društvu.

REVIEW
This tender story of two teenager's sexual coming of age in a working-class development in London is an inspiring, tender, emotional tale. Jamie is a reserved teen, close to his pub manager mom, who prefers old Hollywood musicals to sports. His friendship with his hunky neighbor Ste, a fellow student who suffers through a troubled family life, soon develops into a sexual and eventually a loving relationship. How the two boys tentatively handle their nascent sexual drives and how it affects their family and friends is handled in both a fresh and surprisingly upbeat fashion. A wonderful comedy-drama and possibly the best coming out film to date.

Za ovaj mi je jedan prijatelj rekao da ga obavezno pogledam, sam nedavno našao na netu i doživio totalno razočarenje. Možda ovo filmsko "remek djelo" i nije toliko loše koliko ja nisam bio raspoložen za temuu filma. Radi se prikazu dezorjentisanih tinejdzera koji su upali u Danteov krug droge, prostitucije i u samo dno ljudske zajednice! Izdrogirani tinejdžeri koji upadaju u ruke raznih makroa, sadistički nastrojenih pedofiličara i sličnih maštaju o slavi, novcu i naravno danu kada će izaći iz devetog kruga.

Naravno odatle izlaza nema!

Ono što me je iznerviralo je činjenica da niko na takve stvari ne obraća pažnju, sve dok je u igri veliki novac! Sve je samo velika gluma!

Ko ima želudac za ovu temu preporučujem mu da pogleda ovaj film!

A Great Movie From Start to Finish, 4 September 2004, 9/10

While as real as it gets The other movie that Director had done was Body without Soul. While not as great as Body without the Soul. Mandragora puts a story and makes it breathtaking from start to finish. The main star Marek runs away and decides to become a prostitute. He gets picked up by a slimy greasy pimp. But later on meets another prostitute, David, both of them start to hustle around and make money to start there own prostitute organization. In the movie you can Tell Marek is attracted to David very much and that he is gay. But things go down hill as Marek starts doing drugs and then finds out he has AIDS, a very powerful story in my opinion.

Most people have said that it's unrealistic and very untrue i find this movie has some great elements while not the best movie ever made and not quite perfect it's a movie about mistakes and paths in life as well as coming of age and the downside of prostitution. The movie ends with one of the saddest I've seen in a while beautifully shot and written if you enjoyed movies like L.I.E. Mandragora is right up there to watch as well.

Ovo je priča o tebi i meni druže moj, nadam se da se neće završiti kao u filmu!


Ovo je film koji u meni još uvijek izaziva najjače emocije. Danas sam ga opet pogledao i potresao se kao prije dvije godine kada sam ga prvi put gledao. Na neki način odslikava moj život sada.
Film sam prije dva ljeta gledao sa čovijekom kojeg volim i voljeću dok sam živ. Daleko smo fizički, al u srcem smo uvijek blizu. On oženjen, ima svoj svijet, svoj život, ja opet isto tako, al živimo za dane kada čemo se opet sresti i zagrljeni čutati satima.
Zato kada god pogledam ovaj film nemogu a da ne zanijemim, a da nešto moram reći siguran sam da bi zamuckivao.
No da se vratim na film, da ne opisujem sebe i moj život na ovom mjestu.


Radnja drame se bazira na adaptaciji kratke istoimene priče američke kniževnice, dobitnice pulitzerove nagrade, Anne Proulx, a scenario napisali su Teksašanin Larry McMurtry i Anna Ossana. Film je zbog svoje specifične priče postao interesantan puno prije no što se zavrtio u kinima.

Priča počinje jednog jutra, šezdesetih u konzervativnim pustopoljinama Wyominga kad se Ennis Del Mar (Heath Ledger) i Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) susrecću na dogovoru za posao kod lokalnog rančera Joea Aguirrea (Randy Quaid). Do tog trenutka obojica su bili prilično uvjereni u to da su stalan posao, žena i djeca sve što žele od života. Kad ih Aguirre pošalje da rade kao pastiri u pitoresknom okružjenju planine Brokeback, Ennis i Jack nađu se u situaciji o kojoj nisu ni sanjali. Duboko prijateljstvo i poštovanje ubrzo prerastaju u intimni odnos pun nježnosti. Po završetku ljeta, moraju se vratiti svojim životima.



Ennis ženi Almu (Michelle Williams), srednjoškolsku ljubav, dok Jacku za oko zapinje teksaška kraljica rodea Lureen Newsome (Anne Hathaway). četiri godine kasnije, Ennis, koji je kao i Jack u međuvremenu postao otac, prima razglednicu od svog brokebackovskog prijatelja koji je na proputovanju kroz Wyoming. Glumac Heath Ledger pronađen je mrtav u svom apartmanu, saopštila je njujorška policija. 28-godišnji Ledger je pronađen u svom stanu na Manhattnu, a tijelo je zatekla njegova kućna pomoćnica.

Dojavu o dogđaju primili su vatrogasci, koji su se odazvali na poziv u pomoć zbog navodnog srčanog udara, no u stanu su zatekli već mrtvo tijelo glumca.

Ledger je glumio jednog od dvojice kauboja koji su održavali tajnu homoseksualnu vezu u filmu "Brokeback Mountain" iz 2005. godine.

It finds me in the shower; it haunts me in bed; it has filled my mind and clings to my thoughts, and it won't let up. I try to lie to myself, to find some solace by saying that it's just a movie, but I know better. Jack and Ennis are alive, and they represent so many aching people, so many untold stories. There is no contrivance, no manufactured importance; there are no tricks. Brokeback Mountain tells, with painful honesty and frankness, the story of two men's lives and nothing more. Whether you are gay or straight, it doesn't hit close to home: it hits you. Brokeback Mountain is a place we all most desperately yearn to go. It's where we can be free. It feels funny to say that Brokeback Mountain is my favorite film of all time, because I think it almost an injustice to call it a film at all, or to critique its incredible technical sophistication. Somehow Brokeback Mountain transcends that. I could hear a thousand speeches celebrating diversity or read a hundred love stories and not be absolutely broken in just two hours as I was after this film. I've never felt waves of nausea come over me as I did sitting in that theater, my face contorted as I watched truth and honesty spill from the screen and onto moviegoers who had no idea what they were in for. A doctor (Luiz Carlos Vasconcelos) is hired by the Brazilian government to check up on an AIDS epidemic in Carandiru, a notorious, overcrowded Săo Paolo prison. Kad sam počeo da gledam ovaj film pomislio sam da sam opet naletio na neki Sado-mazo film i skoro da sam

odustao od daljeg gledanja. No što sam ga duže gledao, film mi je postao zanimljiviji I odgledao sam ga do kraja. Neradi se o nikakvom sado –mazo filmu , iako ima i takvih elemenata nego o romansi.

Neki lik zapada u nevolje sa nekom bandom koja ga zatvara u neku garažu i muči ga. Spašava ga jedan momak iz bande.

Odlaze i zaklinju se da se nikada više neće vidjeti.

Film vrvi od explicitnih scena, kao da je rađen u nekoj Evropskoj produkciji.

Po meni može mu se dati prosiječna ocjena , te ukoliko niste sa neta skinuli neki film sa boljom preporukom

Film prati godine života nesnalažljivog James Sancheza, koji se približava 30-tim, bez auta, bez momka, nesređenog načina življenja.
Ali nikad nije kasno, a 30-ti rođendan ipak nešto znači u životu!

The only thematic novelty in "Defying Gravity," John Keitel's modestly agreeable feature directorial debut, is that its coming-out story takes place at a university frat house. Nonetheless, made with a good deal of charm, this aptly titled drama is a likely bet for theatrical release and is bound to please gay men, particularly young ones. Pic should easily travel the global gay festival circuit.

The endearingly naive "Defying Gravity" is undoubtedly a personal film; the writer-director is close in age to his main characters, half a dozen white students sharing a frat house on an unnamed campus (pic was shot at USC, where Keitel was a graduate film student).

Affable and cute, Griff (Daniel Chilson), the ultimate frat boy, spends a hot night with frat brother Pete (Don Handfield), who lives off-campus. But he can't face the notion --- and the responsibility --- that he's gay, still continuing a flirtatious affair with Gretchen (Nicki Lynn), a fetching sorority girl who doesn't excite him much. Griff's best friend, the very straight Todd (Niklaus Lange), is also unaware of his buddy's emerging sexual orientation, though he senses that their relationship is changing.

An argument one night between Pete and Griff in a West Hollywood coffee shop ends badly. Unbeknownst to Griff, later that night, Pete becomes a victim of gay-bashing that sends him to the hospital. Griff finds out about the incident from a TV news report, and recalls seeing a suspicious-looking truck following Pete into a dark alley.

Rest of the overly familiar drama is devoted to Griff's dual dilemma of whether to report the case to the police (a theme used in numerous youth movies, most recently in "All Over Me") and put himself on the line, and when to tell Todd his "secret." The melodramatic plot gets some necessary tension when it becomes clear that members of Griff's frat house were involved in the bashing, which results in a moralistic confrontation, eventually forcing him to begin a new, more mature life on his own.

What helps this meller overcome its stock situations is a gallery of credible and positive characters. Prominent among them is Denetra (Linna Carter), Griff's African-American classmate, who's confused about her own sexuality and becomes a trusted confidante during his moral crisis.Todd is a more sensitive and understanding straight buddy than was the norm in most gay movies until the 1990s.

Low-budget pic, reportedly shot in only 13 days, is directed by Keitel with a good measure of honesty and taste. There are no great performances (three lead thesps are no more than OK), but overall the cast is handsome and appealing. Young gay men will relate to the heartfelt tale, whereas older ones will grin with deja vu, particularly when Griff tries to convince himself that his sexual attraction to men "is only a phase.

Sjajni Leonardo Sbaraglia i Eduardo Noriega imaju savršenu hemiju na ekranu, a celokupnoj seksepilnosti filma doprinosi i nepopravljivo-strejt lik kojeg tumači Pablo Echarri. Plot Outline: Burnt Money, which premiered at the 2000 Toronto International Film Festival, is set in Argentina in 1965 and is the fourth film by director Marcelo Piñeyro. This true story follows the tumultuous relationship between two men who became lovers and ultimately ruthless bank robbers in a notoriously famous footnote in the annals of Argentinian crime history. Nene (Leonardo Sbaraglia), Angel (Eduardo Noriega) and Cuervo (Pablo Echarri) are bank robbers who flee from Argentina across the border to Uruguay after a large-scale hold-up that turns bloody. Angel is hurt and the three must lay low until Angel recovers. Nene and Angel are known to everyone they know as "the twins" because of their resemblance, but the two are not brothers at all - they are involved in a steamy homosexual relationship. To get back to Argentina, the group must first wait for Fontana, the brains behind the robbery, to arrange for passports. Anxious from hiding, Cuervo decides to break curfew and go party. After Nene and Angel also decide to take off, Nene meets a prostitute named Giselle and Angel ends up getting in a fight. The group is forced to abandon their refuge and Angel and Nene decide to move in with Giselle. However, the sexual attraction between Nene and Angel burns too strongly and when Nene gets hostile with Giselle and kicks her out, she goes straight to the police to snitch on the group. I cannot forget the images that Marcelo Piñeyro conjured up and was able to capture in this film. Everything, the visuals, the literate script, with its sensitive, sensuous, heartbreaking dialogue, the suspense that does not leave you for a single minute, the violent finale that you expect and still keep hoping it will not happen, the exquisite acting of all the major players, it will all stay with me, forever, I am sure. This is film-making of the best kind: contemporary, mature, it relates to reality but transcends it and reaches a perfectly beautiful, artistic, poetic level. This is also a film that treats a gay relationship with total honesty and truth. The characters have their faults, but none of them has to do with their sexuality. They make, indeed, a beautiful pair, and I wish they would have had a chance to be happy together, somewhere, somehow, at the end.

Moram da priznam da sam bio skeptican citauci na netu o ovom filmu! Filipinski film mi nije bas nešto blisko. Ipak sam odlucio da ga skinem sa neta i pogledam. Zanimljivo!
Filipinska undergound kultura se ne razlikuje mnogo od Evropske, samo što je malo drugačije upakovana.
Gay populacija koja se okuplja u "Klub Hombre", sa sadrzajima prilagodjenim svim gay ukusima, je glavni akter ovoh filma!

Filming on a miniscule budget, gay Filipino filmmaker Crisaldo Pablo has created a sweet, involving drama about a young gay man's coming of age. But this is not a standard British/US coming-of-age film, it's the story of gay man's sexual awakening in a Manilla bathhouse. Exotic and filled with hot Asian boys, Bathhouse is definitely a treat we loved.

A young college student Rico, who lives at home with his close-knit family, hits the baths looking for someone he has had text and phone conversations with. When that boy doesn't pan out he explores this new world of men seeking sex. The host of the baths is the convivial femme boy Genesis who makes sure he's the only femme in the club! This bathhouse is for "men" only he says. Rico spies the older Cris, a hunky guy in his thirties. After very hot sex, with no full frontal nudity guys, Rico tries to get some kind of committment from his new trick. After all, he doesn't want to have sex with just anyone. When you meet a guy at the baths, don't expect marriage proposals!!! Anyway Rico continues to explore his newfound sexuality and desires. His life hits the rocks when he dramatically comes out to his family, but love wins out.

Without any of the high-pitched drama one associates with Filipino film, Bathhouse tells it's story with sensuality, romance and just plain compelling storytelling skills.
