Director Matt Riddlehoover doesn't mind tweaking your expectations—delivering plenty of eye candy while he tries to deliver a message. In his last film, Scenes from a Gay Marriage, he included plenty of skin but also charming wit. Now he's back with a new sexy comedy that takes place in the various rooms of, as the title suggets, a West Hollywood Motel.
According to a press release, the characters include a medical student (Riddlehoover), his extrovert boyfriend (Andrew Callahan), an adulterous actress (Starina Johnson), her lover (Heather Horton), and a dutiful husband (Phil Leirness) whose wife (Amy Kelly) wakes to find she has a penis. It also co-stars Jared Allman (Scenes from a Gay Marriage), Cesar D' La Torre (Logo's DTLA), Ben Phen (Interior. Leather Bar.), and newcomer Alec Houston Bell. While many people seem to be leaning toward the moody gay dramas about failed romances these days, there should still be room for these silly comedies about sex, love, and more.

The Art of Being Straight (2008)
“A low-key comedy high on charm and credible twentysomething observation, Jesse Rosen’s debut feature, “The Art of Being Straight,” stars the writer-director as a possibly-coming-out newbie in Los Angeles whose puzzling over his sexual identification isn’t helped by his jokily insensitive straight buds. Appealingly played, nicely executed pic has a shot at arthouse distribution in addition to select DVD/cable sales and further fest travel.
A quiet, genial guy among these more boisterous types, John is hardly comfortable discussing his shifting Kinsey scale placement with them, and his new job as bottom-rung gofer at a major ad agency is fraught with sexual tension as a studly boss (Johnny Ray Rodriguez) barrages him with thinly veiled come-ons.
Maddy isn’t undergoing a major life change, just a wee bi-curious phase. John isn’t so much closeted as simply figuring himself out. His peers aren’t real homophobes, just guys talking typical guy-trash. Narrative developments feel true to an increasingly frequent real-world dynamic too seldom seen in drama: When gay guy (or girl) is just “one of the guys,” not the token “gay friend” or the straight woman’s non-threatening pal. Pic’s slice of post-collegiate L.A. life likewise feels casually on-target in portraying an aspirational milieu that’s more Silverlake than Beverly Hills or West Hollywood.”

Waking up in an unknown apartment, next to a beautiful and charming Swedish woman could be the beginning of a perfect love story. 
Yet his spontaneous meeting with the honest and funny Adna (newcomer Adrianna Gradziel) turns everything upside down. Charming Pio Marmai gives an endearing interpretation of a man upset in his certainties, and co-directors and scriptwriters Noémie Saglio and Maxime Govare show off their talent for comic situations and biting dialogue in their debut feature. In this light and sentimental comedy, the question of “coming back in” when you already thought you came out sets the scene for a hilarious mixing of clichés.

Although it is a gay film, it does not focus on gay issue (love, cruelty of life, paradox of choices, etc.) but focuses on the normal life and thought of a human, his name is Pietro. Pietro wants to be an actor, and endeavours to do all that he can to become one, but he just fails. When he has his own apartment and the upcoming dinner with his love, bitter truth reveals to the viewers what they do not know until then about Pietro, about the way he is obsessed with love. However, and also marvelously handling, the film immediately draws our attention to the other and also the biggest event in the film. Pietro meets ghosts. Little by little, Pietro finds way to understand the existence of the ghosts. 
by bit does he learn from those "artist" ghosts who were actors and actresses at their time. Will luck smile on Pietro? Viewers will decide for themselves when Pietro continuously "loses" the expected and "gets" the unexpected during his encounters in life. At the end of the film, truth reveals about the death of the actors and actress, the reason why they become ghosts. 
Again, tenderly tackling, the film draws our attention to the emotions and actions of Pietro when viewers observe his eyes when he watches another man who is his neighbor and also with those eyes at the final stage do viewers understand now there are things more important than just falling in love and living for oneself. The happy life is a life which gives away happiness to others', and the meaningful life is the life which is not born with meaningful things but has to create meanings for itself. 
Intelligent comedy with meanings, up and down contexts with purposes, real drama with truthful emotions and feelings, the film combines and diverts things into a tasty soup. Viewers' role is to sip it slowly and tenderly… 
Love or Whatever (2012)
Like most Therapists who spend their working day advising people how to get their act together, Corey was not that hot at getting his own life on the right track. When he finally proposed to his muscle-bound airhead personal trainer boyfriend, Jon just freaked out and ran off into the arms (and bed) of the nearest woman. He had finally come of out of his gay closet to discover that he was bisexual, or maybe straight even.
The two men have a very successful date and geeky Corey now has another muscle-bound super-fit boyfriend, but before they can even think about even living happily ever after, they must get through a couple of melodramas first. It turns out that Melissa, the woman who the newly proclaimed bisexual Jon is dating, is also a client of Corey's and she insists on telling him every intimate detail of her new relationship not knowing that he was her predecessor. Eventually he tells her that his appointment book is full and she should go find another therapist.
Meanwhile Jon decides he really prefers Corey after all so he comes back and they immediately jump in to bed only to be caught in flagrento by saint Pete. Before they can even get their underwear back on, in storms Melissa who had given Jon a lift and had been waiting in the car outside. And just before they can all say scream 'How could you ? etc', then into this now rather packed house comes Kelsey to say that she is broke and her coffee shop business is in Foreclosure and she's leaving town.
It's a romantic comedy so you know that in this very lightweight fluffy piece it will work out in the end so everyone will have big smiles on the faces and a hot body to share their beds. Well most of them anyway. This one is cute, thanks mainly to a good cast, and not just the ex-underwear models who play two of the leads.
The Trip (2002)
The agent of Alan's transformation is Tommy Ballenger (Steve Braun), a Texas teenager who has moved to Los Angeles to work for gay rights. When Alan first meets him -- at a louche party organized by Peter Baxter (Ray Baker), an older entertainment lawyer -- Alan sees Tommy as a potential interview subject for his book, a conservative attack on gay rights that he plans to call ''The Straight Truth.''
Alan and Tommy soon make a gratingly perfect couple, which rouses the envy of scaly old Peter. His cunning plan, worthy of Alexis Carrington at her worst, consists of forcing a friend to publish Alan's long-abandoned, long-repudiated manuscript anonymously. When the book immediately becomes a best seller -- it is now 1977, at the height of Anita Bryant's ''Save Our Children'' campaign -- Alan continues to hide his authorship (though surely one talk show appearance denouncing his own former self would have gained his movement considerable publicity), allowing Peter to inform the media.
But wait, as they say in infomercials, there's more: you also get a set of Ginsu steak knives, in the form of a third act, set in 1984, that finds Alan living in resigned misery with the predatory Peter. He receives a message from an old friend telling him that Tommy, now living in Mexico, is dying of AIDS and would like to see his former lover one more time.
