In The Moment

N THE MOMENT - HIV prevention campaign at http://www.inthemoment.tv

N THE MOMENT

Created by Dave O'Brien
Official Website
Orientation: Self-Help Forum Melodramatics
Setting: West Hollywood, California
TRT: 27 episodes averaging 5.25mins
Cast: Jesse Lewis IV, John Bryan Davila, Pete Scherer, Nico Sky, Parv Cheena

Premise: The website describes this Melrose Place-y series as "an HIV prevention campaign of LA Gay & Lesbian Center and the City of West Hollywood" and boy, they are not kidding. Almost every line of dialogue is, seemingly, designed to teach you something about safe sex, addiction or body image. It's almost drinking game worthy, but... that seems like that would defeat the purpose.

Coffee House Chronicles

A meet-cute takes an unexpected turn when Darin gets to Matthew's house and discovers that the hottie in the wrap-around shades is Asian -- and Darin doesn't 'do' Asians...

Hi, Stewart Wade here.  I'm a writer and director -- three features so far (Coffee Date, Tru Loved, and most recently Such Good People).  While I love features, I've also always been drawn to the short film format, but the outlets for their distribution have historically been few and far between.  Now, with the advent of online channels such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Hulu, I am newly inspired!

I envision Coffee House Chronicles as an anthology web series which explores the many ways that we connect in this brave new world of the Internet, social media -- and coffee houses on every corner.

The first episode, Secret Asian Man, is sexy and funny -- but also explores racism in the LGBT community.  I've already shot it, starring two gorgeous and talented actors, Mykee Steen and Cesar Cipriano.  But I need your help to launch the series, and get future episodes off the ground.

Here's a brief description of the upcoming episodes I plan to shoot -- if I raise the money:

The Exception:  Jeff is haunted -- literally -- by his perfect ex.  Can his quirky and less-than-perfect BFF, Anthony, get him to leave behind the idealized past in exchange for a messy, imperfect future together?  The wildly talented Drew Droege has agreed to play the role of Anthony!

Perfect Present: A happily married man wants to get his husband the perfect gift for their 25th anniversary.  But is one of the world's sexiest gay porn stars really the best gift to celebrate their love?

Sunday Secrets: Two female yoga buddies drag their husbands along for a Sunday brunch.  Turns out the men aren't exactly strangers...

What We Need & What You Get

Each episode costs about $2,000 (costs vary mostly with locations).  So...a mere $10,000 will allows us to create 5 episodes!  Your contribution will give you the warm glow of helping to bring good art into the world -- specifically movies with characters and situations you DON'T get to see everyday on TV or at the movies.  More concretely, you will also get our thanks, in various formats depending on your level of contribution.  For more substantial contributions, the perks are even better!  You can get even an executive producer credit on the project!

The Impact

This web series will change the world!  Okay, not really.  Well, maybe just a little.  Because I believe that telling good stories, bringing laughter into the world or moving people, does make our lives just a little bit better.

Other Ways You Can Help

Even if you're not in a position to contribute (hey, I've been there!) you can still help by spreading the word.  "Share" on Facebook or Twitter -- you know the drill.

Thanks!

Sexy’s Back on Old Dogs & New Tricks' Latest Episode “To Have & Have Not”

od1Love, sex and work are the focus Old Dogs & New Tricks’ latest episode, “To Have & Have Not,” now playing at Youtube.

Romance is in the air for Nathan and Muscles (Leon Acord, Jeffrey Patrick Olson), as they bond with their respective new boyfriends, Jake and Lucas (Curtis Wayne Brown, Dan Oliverio).

Ironically, resident horn-dog Brad (Curt Bonnem) is too busy to get laid. He’s throwing himself into a job search with less than spectacular results. How does a man with 25 years of no experience get a job?

od4

Meanwhile, on the set of his new TV movie, Ross (David Pevsner) is trying not to bond with his new co-star, Tanya Dickson (special guest star Marisa Petroro). Seems Tanya has the hots for Ross, and she’s not the kind of girl who takes ‘no’ for an answer!

“Marisa was a great sport,” says Leon. “Her second scene with Ross is one of the funniest scenes of the series!”

od3“David Pevsner was such a joy to work with,” says guest star Petroro. “We put our modesty aside, dove into the scene and had a blast. It was hot, it was sweaty, it was fast… and then my nightie ripped. I knew in that moment, we had something really fun for the audience.”

“To Have & Have Not” is directed by Stephen Curtis. The series returns next Wednesday with its fifth new episode, “Ginger Snaps,” also directed by Curtis.

Genre: Webserie
Country: Canada

Year: 2014

An american production In collaboration with LOGO and Tourisme Montréal
With Francis Ducharme, Matthew Ludwinski, Nicolas Racicot, Alexandra Lipskaia

Montreal Boy - some strings attached (complete season 1) from Olivier Labonté LeMoyne on Vimeo.

Created by Logo and producer Jimmy Lee in partnership with Tourisme Montréal, the six-part series takes place over a weekend in the life of Montreal native Stéphane, (actor Francis Ducharme). He’s a handsome young architect with a bright career and a rich social life, although he hasn’t quite gotten over his ex, Matt (Nico Racicot). But things are looking up. He’s met a sexy New Yorker named Hugh (Matthew Ludwinski) online and Hugh is coming to Montreal for an unexpected weekend visit.

Montreal Boy: Some Strings AttachedYou might recognize Ludwinski as the star of Going Down in La-La Land. The adorable French Canadian Ducharme may be less well known to TheBacklot readers, but trust us, he’s definitely worth googling!

One of the aims of this project is to promote travel to Montreal, and it’s true the gorgeous city figures prominently in the web series. But we don’t think that gets in the way of a beautifully shot, intimate story of two gay men tentatively negotiating the beginning of a relationship. Check out the first two episodes below. We’ll be posting additional installments of Montreal Boy: Some Strings Attached each Monday afternoon for the next several weeks.

rine-9-2
The story revolves around some friends living in Strasbourg, their professional and love adventures. Gay or straight, engaged or single, they won’t have a day of rest to say that there’s Nothing New. In three seasons, “Nothing New” mainly follows the relationship between Johannes and Maykel, from their break-up to their wedding.
Around them are their friends, all completely crazy. From a psychiatrist crazier than her patients who accepts to become a surrogate mother, to an homophobic brother who’s a priest, each character is ready to make you crazy.
Affiche 2A victory for Syred Pictures:
Started in 2008 when the whole ‘web series’ concept was not known outside the United States, “Nothing New” was the very first web series to be created in France, and the very first web series worldwide to show gay relations like something “natural”, like a straight relation. Strengthened by it’s ‘very first french web series’ status, “Nothing New” was also widely followed by the medias, newspapers, radios and TV channels in France.
Today, “Nothing New” is counting more than 200 000 downloads per episode for the french version, and 1 million downloads per episode for the english subtitled version, which has a huge success around the world.
“Nothing New” is also the very first web series worldwide that used a 3D camera for an episode, and was critically acclaimed for that.
The strength of the show is, naturally, due to its story based on true events, and so is even more realistic and immersive.

Julian - gay web series

Julian #1 - gay web series
by queerblickTV

Germany - Julian is a 16-years-old boy like any other. He goes to school, has a never ending problem with his parents and dates a girl. But one day, he is attracted by somebody else – a boy. This feeling leads to a lot of confusion in Julian's mind and certain troubles with friends and family. What does is it mean to be gay or bisexual?  How does it feel to kiss somebody of the same gender? Will my parents and friends accept me? These are the typical question that queer teenagers have. The web series "Julian" is based on it.
julian_haut_von_zu_hause_ab

"This series is an excellent work that empowers teenagers during their coming-out. It gives them the chance to identify with the main characters as a role-model. This is extremely important - especially to those that don't know any queer to look up to as an idol", says Falk Steinborn, the founder of the organisation queerblick from Germany. It tries to empower young LGBT through media. His volunteers and him have subtitled the series into English. Originally it was produces by a team of young queers from the LGBT youth center anyway in Cologne (Germany). Among them were some up-and-coming filmmakers that had the idea for the series and produced it with other attendees of the youth center on super low budget. "We are very happy that the LGBT youth center 'anyway' wanted to cooperate with us in order to spread the message of the series world wide", says Steinborn. The chances for that are not too bad. The YouTube channel of queerblick counts more than 400.000 views every month and has more than 13.000 subscribers. The first episode of the series can be watched now. Further eight episodes and one series finale in the format of a 17-minutes short film will follow week by week.
