Alex živi urednim društveno prihvatljivim načinom života, pažljibvo bira skupocjenu garderobu, posjećuje mjesta rezervisana za višu klasu, redovno se bavi sportom i svojim stilom i načinom života ničim ne odaje da bi mogao da ima bilo kakav odnos sa nekim likom kao što je Danny.

Prva epizoda ove serije nam prikazuje kako nastaje njihovo prijateljstvo, otkrivanje emocija, seks i sve elemente jedne lijepe romanse.
Već nakon prve epizode u medijima se razbuktala priča kako je  BBC sebi dopustio nedopustivo. U ranim večernjim satima emitovao je strastven seks dva muškarca i prikazao nešto što nikada nebi uzrujalo većinu ljudi da se radilo o muško-ženskom paru.
Ipak britanski cenzori još nisu odlučili da li će ispitati okolnosti ovog slučaja i pored jedne žalbe koju su zaprimili i objavili da ni u kojem slučaju neće praviti diskriminaciju između heteroseksualnog i homoseksualnog seksa.

U svakom slučaju svim čitaocima ovog sajta preporučujem da pogledaju ovu izvrsno režiranu TV seriju koja nam već u prvoj epizodi otkriva da se radi o zapletu u kojem sasvim sigurno britanska obavještajna služba ima jednu od glavnih uloga.

London Spy is the story of a chance romance between two people from very different worlds, one from the headquarters of the Secret Intelligence Service, the other from a world of clubbing and youthful excess. Danny (Whishaw) – gregarious, hedonistic, romantic and adrift, falls for the anti-social enigmatic and brilliant Alex (Holcroft). Just as the two of them realize that they’re perfect for each other, Alex disappears. Danny, utterly ill-equipped to take on the complex and codified world of British espionage, must decide whether he’s prepared to fight for the truth.

Tom Rob Smith’s award-winning Child 44 trilogy was an international publishing sensation and has been turned into a movie with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Noomi Rapace, produced by Ridley Scott, scheduled for release in April 2015.

London Spy is produced by Guy Heeley, and executive producers are Tom Rob Smith, Juliette Howell, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner for Working Title Television, and Head of Independent Drama Commissioning, Polly Hill, for BBC Two. The miniseries will be distributed by NBC Universal and BBC Worldwide.

As the gang gathers at Ross’ house for the holiday, Lydia (Amanda Gari) is thrilled to introduce the guys to her new boyfriend (Andy Gates). But despite her happiness and Ross’ recent good news, it seems she’s the only one in a festive mood.

While the guys rave about Nathan’s new beau Jake (Curtis Wayne Brown), Nathan (Acord) can’t stop wondering how Damian is spending the holiday.  Muscles (Jeffrey Patrick Olson) complains that dating Lucas is making him fat. Ross’ (David Pevsner) holiday is ruined when a drunken Neal (Parnell Damone Marcano) crashes.  And then Brad (Curt Bonnem) drops a bombshell:  he’s becoming a gigolo!  

Did Acord enjoy his first stint in the director’s chair?

“I was a bit nervous at first,” says Acord.  “But I must confess that it was so easy! I’d forget I was the director. Folks would be waiting for me to call ‘cut’!  But that’s because our actors know their characters so well. Each of our directors has told me, at one point or another, that these actors direct themselves. And it’s true.  Plus, we have a wonderful crew that I trust one-hundred percent. There were some shots where I didn’t even look in the viewfinder!”

The series returns next Wednesday with its fourth new episode, “To Have & Have Not,” directed by Steven Curtis.

HBO je 19.01. započeo sa emitiranjem nove TV serije pod nazivom "Loking". Već ste vjerovatno gledali trajlere i najave za ovu seriju, a mnogi su očekivali nešto poput "Queer As Folk". Medjutim odmah ću da vas razočaram, nema nikakve sličnosti sa serijom koja je po mnogima uspjela da prikaže gay svjet oko nas razbijajući sve tabue nametnute od konzervativnih televizijskih produkcija.
"Looking" je priča o iskustvima i životu tri gej prijatelja u San Francisku koji upadaju u različite  komične, romantične ili tragične situacije iz kojih izlaze uvjek drugačiji kao ljudi.
Na žalost mnogi od nas su očekivali malo više hrabrosti od HBO-a u prikazivanju seksi scena koje su bar u prve tri odgledane epizode na nivou porodične nedeljne TV serije, a ako je upoređujemo sa serijama kao što su "Game Of Thrones" ili "True Blood" onda se "Looking" može svrstati u priče za učenike balkanskih srednjih škola.

U svakom slučaju vam preporučujem da pogledate ovu seriju u slobodnom vremenu kada vam dosadi chatovanje na gayromeu ili bespomučno drkaneje na skype, a dečko vam nije tu da vam uljepša dan.
Mnoge od priča će vas definitivno podsjetiti na neke iz vaših života, a mene je podsjetila na nedavno iskustvo sa jednim momkom iz Beograda.

Nesiguran u sebe, predstavljao se kao čovjek koji ima dosta iskustva i zna šta hoće. Kako sam bio sam u stanu na proputovanju u BG pozovem ga i nadjemo se. Brzo smo popili kafu i završili u krevetu u kojem smo proveli 3-4 minute od kojih su dvije bile u stanju mirovanja uz rečenicu: Ne pomjeraj se, svršiću. Ja mu rekao zamisli da sam ružna baba tvog najboljeg prijatelja. Zažmurio je i rekao: Ne pomaže, jaoooooooo. Nakon što nije znao kako da zapakuje i baci upotrebljeni kondom, ćutljivo se obukao i rekao kako mu je ovo bio doživiljaj za pamćenje.
Ostao sam sam u stanu razmišljajući da li se nešto desilo ili sam zadrijemao.

'Looking' offers up the unfiltered experiences of three close friends living -- and loving -- in modern-day San Francisco. Friendship may bind them, but each is at a markedly different point in his journey: Patrick (Jonathan Groff) is the 29-year-old video game designer getting back into the dating world in the wake of his ex's engagement; aspiring artist Agustín (Frankie J. Canada has a long and rich history of quality indie film, and so Frozen Roads should have had a lot going for it. Unfortunately – despite the promise – the end result was rather disappointing.

The main issue with the film was the quality of acting on display. The lead characters appeared awkward and wooden – which under other circumstances might have been beneficial in order to convey the respective awkwardness of dealing with gay inclinations as a teenager. Unfortunately – this being a short – we weren’t afforded enough depth of character to make that judgement.

Focusing on the brother and sister leads, Christian (Kyle Mac) and Lyla (Carlyn Burchell), we learn that they are both share feelings for the same boy, Balthazar (Kevin DeCarli) – and the story that follows covers Christian’s stumbling attempts to convey his affections for his friend – who in turn reacts badly and the film culminates in an intense, yet perfunctory sex scene in the front of a truck as Balthazar struggles to come to terms with his emotions. The film is also split in the middle by a home-movie-style clip of the three as toddlers, enjoying a summer vacation – informing the audience that the three have been life-long friends. It appears abruptly and not only disrupts the flow of the film, but also confuses the audience as to its purpose in relation to the remainder of the story.

It’s not Sex and the City for gay men. It’s not The L Word for dudes. It’s not Noah’s Arc for the web. It’s something … else. In Between Men, the original online-only series from creator Quincy Morris, centers around four gay fellas in the big city. It just debuted. And I’m loving it.

Is this anything we haven’t seen before? Nah. These things get pitched around town by combining the titles of known works: It’s Lipstick Jungle meets Dynasty, or some crap like that. And that’s generally because these skeins do end up pulling pieces from the past. The acting is a smidge flimsy, and the plotlines not entirely unique (gay pride weekend?! oh my). But there’s everything you need to make your A-gay skin tingle: sexy professionals, bisexuals, and nightlife living (including hooking up in the lav). And I swear that was the poorman’s Fabio walking through one scene.

In Between Men isn’t pretending to be anything more than a guilty pleasure, and that’s why I’m enjoying it. Yes, there are a lot of white guys, and of course it’s set in lower Manhattan, and there’s the requisite focus on drugs and quick sex. But there are little blips of high-mindedness here, like a discussion about the merits of gay pride parades. And these gents have their own bro code (“FIST FUCK!”). I’m staying tuned.

Britanska serija Cambridge Spies je predstavila pravo osvježenje nakon odgledanih  nabrojanih gluposti. Spočetka serije bilo mi je lijepo vidjeti ta četiri vedra mladića prepunih ideala i želja da u životu učine nešto što će promijeniti svijet. Njihovi ideali nastali na strogom kembridždskom univerzitetu u vrijeme pojave nacizma u evropi, poklopili su se sa jačanjem komunističkih ideala u istočnoj evropi.
Priča napisana po istinitom događaju koji je potresao Veliko Kraljevsko ostrvo.

Glani junaci ove priče unajmljeni su kao špijuni za Sovjetski savez. Sa ljubavlju prema komunizmu i puni ideala, talentom za špijunažu i mržnjom prema Hitleru i fašizmu, četvorka započinje 20-godišnju karijeru velikih prijevara i laži.

Guy Burgess: nadaren i nepokolebljiv, ovisan o seksu i scotchu. Zaposlen u The Timesu, BBC-u i MI5, što mu je pomoglo u pristupu tajnim podacima o nacionalnoj sigurnosti.

Donald Maclean: dvostruki agent s podvojenom ličnosti; simpatičan i duhovit, a zatim divlji i opasan.

Fascinantni likovi, bistrog uma neće ni jednog gledaoca ostaviti ravnodušnim. Guy Burges, neskriveni homoseksualac, na jedan neobičan način na otkriva laž i hipokriziju visokog plemićkog društva koje mu otvoreno saopštava da ga smatraju sebi ravnim, članom kluba, koje  je sposobno da toleriše njegove ispade i greške, pa čak i one koje će ga pratiti doživotno, misleći pri tom na njegovu seksualnu orjentaciju. Ništa neobično za današnje vrijeme, ali radi se o 1934. godini kada je homoseksualnost u Engleskoj bila kažnjavana čak i smrtnim presudama.

Ostavio me je zatečenim dok je jednom prijatelju pričao  o smrti njegovog oca: Nešto sam dobio smrću moga oca, dobio sam slobodu, bila je to velika tuga, ali i snažan osjećaj slobode. Zvuču smješno, ali smrt roditelja može biti početak,posebno ako si ga volio.
Sličan osjećaj sam i ja imao kada mi je umro otac, jer sam za njegova života bio ono što je očekivao od mene, a smrt je izbrisala svaku šansu da ga eventualno razočaram. A majka , ona uvijek nekako sve osjeća i zna, al nikada ne pita niti prebacuje, naprosto uvjek je na mojoj strani, ma šta ja uradio!

Ova serija je urađena u četiri epizode, možda je malo podugačka, ali već sada sam siguran da ću je sa uživanjem odgledati ostala tri nastavka.

This is a lightly fictionalised account of how four tewwibly well brought up English boys betrayed their country to the Soviet Union. Philby's father had been a distinguished diplomat and Arabist and McLean's a cabinet minister. All had public school educations and had been undergraduates at the same Cambridge college. They set off into promising careers in the foreign office and security services and were Soviet agents from the start. Their great coup was to give the Soviets enough details about the atomic bomb to speed up their program to build one by a couple of years, but it was at the expense of blowing McLean and Burgess's cover (they escaped to Moscow in 1951), and Philby being fired from MI6. He joined them in Moscow in 1963. Blunt, by now the Keeper of the Queen's Pictures was then interrogated; he confessed, and was let go.

It's one of the really great spy stories of the 20th century. This version concentrates on the personal dynamics. The amount of contact the spies had with each other after Cambridge seems to be much exaggerated (pretty bad security), but gives us the picture of the gang of four against the Establishment. The women are interesting too. Philby was a ladies' man to whom Donald McLean's American wife Melinda (Anne-Louise Plowman) was attracted. They later lived together in Moscow. Blunt and Burgess were both gay, but friends rather than lovers.
The Establishment, in the person of Lord Halifax (James Fox), Ambassador to Washington, found it difficult to believe that 'people like us' could do such things and started looking for the atomic spy in the embassy kitchens. One or two western counter-intelligence operatives including the CIA's formidable James Jesus Angleton nearly nabbed them, but with Philby tipping them off (and duchessing Angleton), Burgess and McLean made it safely to Moscow.
With four hours to play with all the characters are richly drawn. Tom Hollander's Guy Burgess is a drunken dirty little sod who somehow manages to be witty and charming as well. It was great cover for a spy. As Donald McLean, Rupert Penry-Jones is the Golden Boy who feels himself unworthy, and sees communism as the way to redemption. Toby Stephens as Kim Philby gives us the cleverness, the deviousness and the angst as well, especially in the Spanish episode.(I'm afraid us Philbys are a devious lot, but we bleed, we bleed). Samuel West's Blunt has the occasional hint of emotion, but basically is a cold fish. Art, it seems is his life. He does get on tewwibly well with the Queen.

Seventy years on, it's not so much why they did it, but why they kept it up that mystifies. Given their location close to the heart of British Intelligence and hence knowing as much as anybody outside about what really went on the Soviet Union, it's extraordinary that Philby and McLean in particular continued on right up to 1951 (Blunt was more or less inactive after 1945). It is suggested here that Ms McLean did try to get her husband to give up spying but there's no real explanation as to why he persisted. Perhaps he still believed. Anyway, truth or fiction is hardly the point here - Sunday night is not for history lessons. This is a familiar tale well told, visually splendid and not too taxing. The real story, I suspect, is far too complex for even the most adroit (or left) TV producer. An earlier TV account,"Philby Burgess and McLean" (1977) is also worth watching, if you can find it.
