Based on a 2005 Iranian photo that was taken of two men on the day they were executed for being gay, the award-winning 13-minute film ABAN + KHORSHID from writer/director Darwin Serink depicts the atrocious and inhumane executions still happening around the world today based purely on sexual orientation.

Blackbird (IV) (2014)

Blackbird (IV) (2014)

Director: Patrik-Ian Polk
Writers: Rikki Beadle Blair, Patrik-Ian Polk
Genre: Drama
Country: USA
Language: English
Duration: 99 min
Year: 2014

Stars: Mo'Nique, Julian Walker, Kevin Allesee, Isaiah Washington

BY DIEGO COSTA - Slantmagazine
APRIL 22, 2015
Blackbird opens with sexually repressed Randy (Julian Walker), a closeted black high school senior from a Southern Baptist family, singing a duet in his choir with another guy. The scene culminates with the two making out and taking their clothes off on stage and at least one member of the choir fainting in horror. Turns out this is just a wet dream, one of many that Randy will have throughout the film, which sometimes includes guys knocking on his window and asking, “Is this a gay party or can a dirty straight boy join in?” Randy tends to wake up from these dreams with jizz all over his hands, and stricken with the kind of guilt that gets him on his knees, begging the lord for forgiveness.
The dream motif actually turns out to be one of the Patrik-Ian Polk film's least hackneyed devices; after all, a gay boy in the most stifling of closets (this despite the realness of Randy's Joan Crawford eyebrows) can only gasp for air in the unconscious. The device recovers its usual triteness, however, once we hear an entire song about dreams, just in case we haven't understood that they're quite important for Randy, while watching him lose his virginity to some white dude in, of course, slow motion.

While this gospel Glee of a movie about gay alienation has its share of witty lines (“What do they teach you straight boys, nothing?”) and sweet tear-jerking scenes, Blackbird flounders by using a song in every other scene, or whenever it wants to evoke an emotion, and by casting Mo'Nique as yet another mother monster.
She slaps Randy in the face when he eats the pie she's baked for her missing daughter, and arms herself with a baseball bat when finding irrefutable proof that he's gay. To add to the film's TMZ-triggered problems, having Isaiah “Not-Your-Little-Faggot” Washington, as Randy's father, play the one gay-friendly voice in an ocean of homophobic hysteria is an embarrassingly forced mea culpa.

In its best moments, Blackbird exudes the cheekiness of But I'm a Cheerleader, as in Randy meeting a bona-fide gay, Marshall (Kevin Allesee), who ushers him toward his first sex-cruising experience at a park late at night. Randy asks, “Is this some kind of lovers lane?” But for a film that wants to be something of a teen musical, a coming-of-age story, and a gay fairy tale all at once, it's too often bogged down by an unnecessarily somber subplot about Randy's sister, which never quite fits the narrative, and worn-out images of Jesus freaks trying to pray the gay away through exorcism. Indeed, being a closeted black gay boy in Mississippi is surely suffocating, but Blackbird is, like its main character, too naive to understand or, at least, to deploy the reparative powers of camp.

Poslije tog iskustva često smo drkali zajedno.

Tom, 16, lives in a small town in Bavaria and is about to admit his homosexuality to society. Being mobbed and threatened in school and after some exiting experiences he overcomes his own barriers and makes his dream come true: getting into contact with others. The Story tells us from Tom, he is gay, he is chatting with other gay boys over the internet, but he would never admit it in front of others. By coincident he finds out, that Nikias - one of the cool guys in school, who mob Tom - likes to have sexual contact with boys as well. To be more accurate: Tom finds Nikias having sex with another guy on a couch. And on top of that, there is this very cute boy from the candy shop...

( punjete).

by Arcadio Bolanos (Peru) – IMDB
128Many pages have been written regarding masturbatory dynamics. In Michele Foucault's "Histoire de la Sexualité", there is a thorough analysis of Victorian Age approach towards onanism. According to scientific minds of that era, this self-abuse practice would not only be physically perilous and thus deemed as a menace for a society who would seek healthier reproduction procedures, but also it would morally impeach whoever did it. After all, masturbation required fantasy, id est, one must fantasize about whatever it is considered enticing (which would greatly vary depending on the subject) in order to ensure this private act.
Much could be said about erotic reinforcement in masturbatory sessions, but it all boils down to one single element: fantasy. Sometimes, most of the times, fantasy is a social construct that reflects easily on a certain kind of man or woman. We're told what to desire, what to look for, and sometimes it becomes increasingly difficult to look outside pre-established parameters.
128b"Latch Key" revolves around two particular moments: The mutual masturbation that takes place between Sam and Thomas; and sexual intercourse between Lou (Sam's brother) and a girl. The two boys get together to watch a porno movie while masturbating each other. As one learns through the dialogue, this is an activity that has been going on for long. For Thomas it all comes down to one point "better than doing it myself"; for Sam, on the contrary, everything is about Thomas. Because Sam does not pay attention to the guy-on-girl sex tape, his eyes are glued onto his young friend's body. Watching the video provides Thomas with the right fantasy to carry on this activity. Sam's situation is more complicated, as he wishes a most intimate contact, his desire is to break the masturbation barrier and engage Thomas in more satisfying acts. Thomas presence then acts upon Sam as the reinforcement of fantasy, though it's not the fulfillment of fantasy, far from it.
On the other hand, Lou makes every effort to get the girl naked. All she wants is to know if they'll get back together and if he loves her or not. The only thing Lou wants is to have sex. To have fun before his mom arrives from work.
Nevertheless we must address this poignant nonchalant approach to teenage sex. In the first case, masturbation is a game of fantasies staged through different points of view. In the second case, sex is more akin to masturbation than anything else, after all Lou's major concern is to ejaculate in a warm body before it's too late. It's the selfishness of Lou's character that nullifies intercourse as a meaningful act. And it's the naiveté of Sam that transforms the shared hand job into the previous step before sex. Whether or not real sex will happen for either of them is something we can only guess at.

By LAURA KERN
Published: October 27, 2006
Size plays a major role in “20 Centimeters "a brash, vivacious concoction of dark comedy, light drama and musical performance written and directed by Ramón Salazar. For starters, the title refers to the length of its main character’s penis, nearly eight inches. Marieta, né Adolfo, a pre-op transsexual narcoleptic (convincingly played by Mónica Cervera), wants those inches to vanish, and nothing can come between her and the surgery that will make it happen, not even a hunky fruit-stocker who likes her as is.

18885892.jpg-r_640_600-b_1_D6D6D6-f_jpg-q_x-20070907_081119During spells of sudden sleep, which seem to come at the most ill-timed moments, Marieta dreams that she is the star of huge, spicy (and frustratingly hit-or-miss) song-and-dance numbers in a wide variety of musical styles, most prominently Spanish and American pop songs. (The bit inspired by Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video is particularly amusing.)
But because so much screen time is spent in fantasyland, the film’s reality-based story lines, which focus on the sometimes bleak, even tragic, elements of Marieta’s everyday life — her conflicted sexuality, prostitution work and complex relationships with her roommate (a dwarf) and a neighbor’s young son — end up serving mainly as springboards for the high-energy set pieces.

CRITIC AFTERDARK
222Craig Chester's Adam & Steve is a 2005 gay picture that for some undecipherable reason the distributors thought would actually make money in Manila theaters, three years after its initial commercial run, (don't ask me--I just write about them, I don't decide them). Might have worked too, for all I know; problem is, they should have picked a comedy--a funny one.
Chester's picture starts out amusing enough: Chester plays Adam, dressed and made up as a Goth; Malcolm Gets is Steve, a Danceteria Dazzle Dancer Adam for once in his loser life manages to take home with him. Steve does a striptease, commits a traumatically embarrassing act (he'd been doing some serious cocaine, cut with all kinds of inappropriate substances), and runs off forever.
Fast forward fifteen years later. Adam's rushing his dog into the emergency room--why there and not a veterinary hospital, I don't know. "We don't treat animals here" a security guard naturally and very sensibly tells him; Steven, now a psychiatrist, agrees to treat the canine anyway. Adam doesn't recognize Steve from years before, but sparks fly; before you can say "Holy powdered laxatives!" they're dating each other steadily, in post-9/11 New York.

adamandsteve4ko1Odd sidenote: the movie wears its New York City setting proudly on its sleeve. At various points we're treated to a longtime New Yorker's walking tour of the city, from rowboating in Central Park's Lake to crossing the length of the Brooklyn Bridge's wooden walkway, with its magnificent East Side view; it's constantly throwing in details of the city's social life, from exotic coffees and soda drinks to rehab meetings for various addictions. One might consider it the gay, low-budget equivalent of Sex and the City; it's certainly self-absorbed enough--New York is the entire universe, the rest of the world just some shadowy afterthought existing in the margins. And there's sex everywhere, and the need--no, hunger (no accident, I think, that Chester looks vampiric in the pic's opening scenes)--to connect.
For the most part the whole unlikely thing works: Chester and Gets make a remarkably sweet couple, and even the occasional running gag about beer bottle-tossing homophobia has its appeal, with a punchline that one may or may not find amusing, depending on one's tolerance for amateurish flinging. They get able support from Parker Posey and Chris Kattan as their respective best friends, and a minor constellation of comic talents: Sally Kirkland, Melinda Dillon, among others.
adamandsteve9nz7 (1)Maybe the comic high point of the picture is when Adam presents Steve to his family, incurable victims of the Bernstein Curse. Adam's mother turns out to be Julie Hagerty, which explains a lot about Adam--she's as wide-eyed and demented and unflappably cheerful as she's ever been, from Airplane! (1980) to Lost in America (1985).
That's the good stuff; the movie starts to fall apart when Chester decides to get serious on a decidedly unserious premise: he has Steve recognize Adam as the hapless Goth he'd turned onto drugs (among other shameful acts), and breaks up with him. One wants to ask: why this, why now? Because the picture's been coasting along on good will and character detail, Chester must be thinking, and requires some kind of third-act conflict, to wrap things up (too bad--if he had ended on a less hysterical note, we might have found out what a collaboration between Jacques Rivette and John Waters might have played like).
88Adam plays the part of the jilted bride and is by turns hurt, bitchy, furious. No cliché is left unmolested, no sentimental device left brutally unmilked; in the movie's extreme low point, Steve pulls Adam aside and sings him "Something Good" from The Sound of Music (1965). No stomach was left unturned.
It doesn't help that the dialogue, which up to this point had been more or less persuasive (besides the constant subliminal "I love New York" advertising) descends to treacly sloganeering: "I may be damaged goods, but I'm goods none the less;" "I choose you! I choose you!" Was not aware that there was an urgent need in this world for a gay equivalent to Jerry Maguire--the original was blood-curdling enough as is.
It doesn't help that Chester has all the visual sense and gift for depth of a publisher of pop-up books; it's possible he's trying to emulate John Waters' it's-all-there amateurishness but for all of Waters' faults, he had a distinct and powerful philosophical view: perversion and pleasure and pain are indistinguishable from each other, and should be savored accordingly; Chester doesn't seem to have anything more on his mind than a simple romantic comedy, with onscreen diarrhea thrown in for good measure.
Just think what the late, great Joey Gosiengfiao might have done with all this, and on a considerably smaller budget? Gosiengfiao would have thrown in the laxative (only with more immersive results), would have included the surrealism (only with more wit), would definitely have made sure there were dance numbers (only more gracefully staged), and even had someone sing something out of Sound of Music, only it would have been horrifyingly funny, instead of just horrifying. A wasted opportunity, all around.

Malo popersa i gaće 127su pale.

21 May 2008 | by ApolloBoy109 (United States) - IMDB
Very haunting short film about loneliness. Malcolm Gets stars as a man desperate for companionship. Seeking it in a bar, as we all know, is a mixed bag. In this case the object of his desire is an equally desperate drug addict. Every time Zeno asks for some new form of drug, that desperation builds until mistakes are made. Gets is always watchable, here he walks down a path many men can relate to. I felt so uncomfortable knowing Zeno needed to escape via some drug, eventually settling on poppers as his only means to get through the sex act, leaving Gets even more lonelier than before the experience. The painting of his dead lover watching the entire act was unnerving.

Sometimes eroticism lays hidden in that moment suspended within the space that separates two bodies which cannot touch each other.

30 days2Ryan Hickmott is a God-fearing 24-year-old conservative from Oxford, Michigan, a town of less then 4000 people. He agrees to travel outside his comfort zone to defeat and defend some of his stereotypes of the gay community. His journey takes him to San Francisco's Castro district to live with roommate Ed Coller in what is notoriously known as one of the gayest areas of the country. As he works a job that caters to gay clientele, and attends gay-friendly church services, he gets an inside view of what it is like to live as part of a minority that still elicits strong feelings of hatred among many Americans. Throughout the 30 Days, he makes friends he never thought he would, learns things he didn't realize he didn't know, and realizes that some of the ideals he has been raised with may not be completely his. He will have his Bible-rooted values severely challenged as this important issue becomes very personal.

Perem, peglam, pušim i gledam.. ..Španske filmove i serije!
Tipičan zaplet svojstven Španskoj kinematografiji, a sve upakovano u pristojnu porodičnu Gay komediju!

Year: 2005
Genre: Comedy, Romance
Director: Manuel Gómez Pereira
Duration: 107 min
Country Spain

Actors: Verónica Forqué, Carmen Maura, Marisa Paredes, Mercedes Sampietro, Betiana Blum, Gustavo Salmerón, Unax Ugalde, Hugo Silva, Daniel Hendler, Paco León, Raúl Jiménez, Fernando Valverde, Lluís Homar, Jorge Perugorría, Ginés García Millán

A breezy romantic farce bouncing lightly off a singular historical moment, Manuel Gómez Pereira's "Queens" takes place in the days leading up to Spain's first legal gay wedding. (Spain was the fourth country to legalize gay marriage, a little over a year ago.) The title is a play on words; the story centers around three young gay couples who plan to marry in a televised ceremony for 20. But the "queens" of the title are four of their formidable mothers.

In the days before the wedding, the couples find themselves beset by every imaginable complication — bickering divorced parents, infidelity, uncomfortable class issues, a burglary, a hotel strike and a lost dog. And at times, especially where the dog is involved, the movie descends to the level of a sitcom. But it's Gómez Pereira's treatment of the mothers — ages 50 to 60 — that makes the movie worth seeing, especially as a point of comparison to how Hollywood portrays their peers. Alternately divorced, unfaithful, self-centered, insensitive — some of them all of the above — the mothers are to a woman strong-willed, sexy and eminently admirable.

Carmen Maura plays Magda, an icy hotel magnate. She and her husband, with whom she enjoys a strictly business relationship, have recently launched a chain of hotels catering to a gay clientele. Magda's uptight, affection-starved son Miguel (Unax Ugalde) is engaged to marry an Argentine massage therapist named Oscar (Daniel Hendler), and is horrified when Oscar's warm but overbearing mother Ofelia (Betiana Blum) arrives in Madrid intending to stay for three months with her rambunctious dog in tow. Miguel feels like his world is falling apart, but Magda is too involved in a heated labor dispute with her handsome head chef to notice.

When the judge who was scheduled to perform the ceremony suffers a heart attack, the task falls to Elena (Mercedes Sampietro), who is unhappy about her son Hugo's (Gustavo Salmerón) impending wedding to Narciso (Paco León), a delegate to the European Parliament in Brussels for whom the legalization represents a huge political victory. Unfortunately for Narciso, his mother, Nuria (Verónica Forqué), is a sex addict whose problem threatens to ruin his big moment.

Slightly removed from the drama is Reyes (Marisa Paredes), a famous actress whose son Rafa (Raúl Jiménez) is marrying Jonas (Hugo Silva). Jonas is the son of Jacinto (Lluis Homar), her longtime gardener, who has never set foot inside her house until he's invited to dinner the night before the wedding. Reyes orders sushi and sets the table with chopsticks, passive-aggressively hoping to show up Jacinto's lack of sophistication. Jacinto calmly and then not quite so calmly reminds her that he is a 49-year-old widower who eats out on occasion, and then proceeds to recite the list of incrementally exotic ethnic restaurants he frequents. After dinner, he lights a joint. "You don't mind, do you?" he asks Reyes, hoping she might. "Please," she says, "I've worked with Almodóvar!" The reference is not unique — later, when Reyes attends a paella party at Jacinto's house, one of his friends mistakes her for the famous actress "Carmen Maura." In much the same way that weddings bridge generational gaps, "Queens" alludes to the Almodóvar-centered avant-garde late '70s and '80s that paved the way for a completely mainstream and commercial treatment of once taboo subjects.

The movie has no higher ambition than to please a crowd; the fact that it easily does is proof of the world's heartening capacity for change.

Film tek počeo, a ja u šoku.
Onda ide sahrana, plač. jad i tuga. Porodica , Rui, Odete, Pedrova majka...

Two Drifters (2005)

June 23, 2006
A Love Triangle Like No Other in 'Two Drifters'
By NATHAN LEE
Published: June 23, 2006

A bittersweet joke in the art-house scene has it that if the brainiest, least compromised of foreign filmmakers would only make a movie about adorable homosexuals, they'd get a distribution deal. It worked for the Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul, whose gay-themed "Tropical Malady" was the first of his avant-garde features to get a theatrical release. And it appears to be working for Joăo Pedro Rodrigues, a clever Portuguese filmmaker who makes odd, cerebral films about hot, sexed-up guys.

"O Fantasma," Mr. Rodrigues's 2002 debut feature, joined hard-core formalism to explicit naughtiness in the oneric adventures of a libidinal garbage man. But its deeper excitement was to function as a metaphorical graph of eroticism itself, a diagram of its interior structures and transgressive dynamics.

Less dirty but even more perverse, Mr. Rodrigues's new movie, "Two Drifters," is another head trip through the landscape of desire. Generically it is a melodrama, albeit of a strange sort capable of accommodating pastiche, parody, hysterical pregnancy and the transmigration of souls. Rich in ambiguity, it unequivocally confirms the arrival as a major and audacious new talent.

Nuno Gil stars as Rui, a young hunk with broad features who is introduced kissing Pedro (Joăo Carreira), his button-cute boyfriend, on their first anniversary. They exchange rings inscribed with the words "two drifters," a lyric from "Moon River," which plays on the car radio. A minute later Pedro drives off into a fatal accident, and "Two Drifters" evolves into the story of how Rui confronts his grief vis-ŕ vis a supermarket cashier on roller skates.

Her name is Odete, and she is brought to life — multiple, irrational lives — by the feral, enigmatic actress Ana Cristina de Oliveira. Odete is Pedro's neighbor, and has lately been squabbling with her boyfriend about having a baby. She's about to get her dream: the kind you wake up from unclear if it was meant as comedy, tragedy, satire or farce, and finally put together as a paradox containing them all.

Abandoned by her boyfriend, Odete is mysteriously drawn to Pedro's death, attending his funeral, lingering at his grave and insinuating herself into Rui's broken life. He is baffled by Odete, and then rattled to the bones when she shows up pregnant claiming the dead boy as the father.

Later a doctor will diagnose hysterical pregnancy, at which point Odete returns to her normal shape and is possessed by the spirit of Pedro to reunite with Rui. Or maybe she's a complete nut case.

The feat of "Two Drifters" is to advance a contradiction — Odete is overtaken by madness; Odete is overtaken by Pedro — and refuse to resolve it, spinning the two possibilities around the axis of Rui's sadness. Neither sentimental nor cruel, yet touching and trenchant, the movie sustains a profound ambivalence right up to the final shot. With a doozy of a provocation — a happy ending like no other — Mr. Rodrigues explains nothing while clarifying what's really at stake here: grappling with loss, transcending through love.
